Faith and religion have deep meaning and relevance for a large part of American society and cultures around the world. The office of a priest, minister, missionary, rabbi and other religious workers serve a great purpose in our society. There are some secular organizations who also understand the value such individuals add to our world, many of which have a strong theological department or focus on religious studies. Scholarships from these organizations tend to be denomination-specific, church-specific, religion-specific or nonspecific.

The Mary E. Bivins Foundation Religious Scholarship Program - Awards up to $3,000 per semester to undergraduate and graduate students residing in the counties of the Texas panhandle, who aspire to become a Christian minister and who have a G.P.A. of at least 2.75.

The Alpha Tau Omega Foundation Scholarship - Awards go to graduate students who are studying theology and any other courses in preparation for the ministry.

Carolyn Weatherfod Scholarship - Awards up to $1,000 to post-grad students who want to enter into foreign missions

Julia C. Pugh Scholarship - Awards up to $1,000 to children of North American and international missionaries.

Lee Francis Heller Memorial Award - Awards up to $1,500 to Christian transgender students toward a degree in religious studies at any U.S. college or university.

UCC Brown Scholarship - Awards up to $10,000 a year to students seeking pastoral degrees.

Lipton Graduate Student Research Scholarship - Awards $5,000 to Jewish graduate students based on their dissertation.

KFF Scholarship - Awards full paid tuition, plus a monthly allowance, and paid airfare back home every 2-3 years as an approved student to high-achieving Muslim graduate students who are studying science, medicine or engineering.
